With the shelter-in-place order extended, the Oakland Schools and the Oakland Schools Education Foundation is suspending the Outstanding Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Support Person of the Year programs for this year.
There are so many individuals working in education that are going above and beyond at this time to tend to the physical, educational and emotional needs of their students in extraordinary ways – our social media feeds are full of these uplifting and heart-warming stories.
Under these extraordinary circumstances, I know we can all agree that now is not the right time to recognize only a few of these amazing individuals, instead we humbly acknowledge all school employees.
