On Saturday, February 29, 2020 at noon, 82 school spelling bee champions will compete to represent Oakland County at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May. To participate, students must be in grades 5-8, and attend school in Oakland County. This event is open to the public, and is at the Oakland Schools administration building at 2111 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford, MI. The event will be videotaped and the video will be shared with the public on the OSEF website after March 7, 2020, in accordance with the new Scripps National Bee rules. The Oakland Press will include a feature on the Spelling Bee in the Friday, February 28th paper. Congratulations and good luck to all of our spellers!
